About the Journal
The JKG was published in 1999 - 2005 and is the predecessor of the International Journal of Conflict and Violence (IJCV), which is also published on the BieJournals platform of Bielefeld University Library.
The thematic orientation of the research journal was broad. It was not intended to address only those destructive forms of conflict that can escalate into open violence. Rather, it was also intended to investigate the possible productive role of social conflicts, which, according to renowned conflict researchers, were of irreplaceable importance for the integration of modern societies. In this respect, the title of the journal marked out a field of tension in which quite different constellations of the relationship between conflict and violence could have their say.
The Journal for Conflict and Violence Research was discontinued with issue 2/2005. Manuscripts can no longer be submitted.
